2018
The impetus for the idea of this project was my personal transformation process through the movement as a physical manifestation of the inner state. Ivana Kocevska asked me to create interludes between each Metamorphosis movement of the milestone piece by Philip Glass. My music fits in between as metamorphosis in parallel worlds, as haunted memories that are still to be lived. While Philip Glass piece is a dreamlike universe of a rattling evolution of simple rhythmic and melodic motifs, I took over the other glitchy and rotten side of this dreamscape and tried to examine my personal comparisons with the original music.
Therefore, a blast of non-symmetrical rhythms and phrases were born and it was my constant confrontation with Philip Glass idea of evolution through repetition. The mechanical element of these soundworks are the common denominator, although my aim is completely different. There is no real transformation here. Instead I explore the static quality of the time as counterpoint to what the minimalism in music actually is. The time passes by, but nothing really changes.
